Springal Hill Allotments

The Parish Council has a number of allotments adjacent to Springal Hill in Buckland Common. They are available to rent on an annual basis. The rent ispaid in advance.

History of the Allotments

In 1976, the Parish Council leased land at Springal Hill from the District Council to provide 14 allotments (for £3pa large, £2 small). In the first instance they were offered to residents living at Brown’s Rise.  A draw was organised by the Parish Clerk so all residents who had applied had a fair chance of getting a good spot. The Council purchased the land for £500 in 1982.
